Gosh! What does someone say about launching a brand? There are people to thank (Hi Garrett and Liesl and JJ. And Ytha and Dom and Emily and Les and Chris and Wouter and Sabine… I can keep going but I won’t) And then there are stories to tell. Like the time we headed out to see that crazy pattern maker in Noord. Or the time we hauled 32 kilos of second hand shirts back on our bike. While walking the dog.

FIRST THINGS FIRST

Maybe the most important thing to tell you is that the POCO POCO plan is to take things slowly and make our lives a little easier and a lot better. Even though those seem impossible to do at the same time. Often the right choices, for ourselves, the planet and our society, feel like the hard ones. They aren’t. They’re just the slow ones. And we aren’t used to slow anymore. So here it’s all about going slowly slowly. Bai POCO POCO. Believe me. I find it hard too.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

The need to take a step back (from the big job in fast fashion) and have a long hard look at all the things learned. And of course spending a lot of time with a little man called Sam. Who needed some better fitting clothes. While mom (me) wanted those to be easier and a little more guilt free.

After trying a couple of things with a sewing machine in our tiny kitchen we decided to see if we could make this a holistic approach to a brand. And so we found a professional pattern maker and a very socially responsible atelier called Made Here to produce our POCO POCO playsuits locally and ethically. Which brings us to this exact point! The launching of our first ever collection: THE DENIM(ISH) COLLECTION.
